Mickley Hall Shooting Ground
Clay Shooting At Mickley Hall Shooting School.
Welcome to our Shooting School website, our ground features a fantastic clay pigeon shooting venue, just outside the old market town of Nantwich in South Cheshire.
From opening in 2010, Mickley Hall has established a venue that appeals to the seasoned “pro”, with a range of interesting clay targets and regular competitions. Whilst also being welcoming to novice shooters, who may have never fired a shotgun before, but wish to learn more about this fascinating sport.
Our shooting ground is unique in how we are set out. All of the clay shooting is done in undercover stands, so we ensure that your day will never be ruined by a rainy day, and our stoned pathways ensure you can leave your “wellies” at home!
With over 50 clay traps around the ground, we are able to set targets which are suitable for a novice shooter, but also set challenging targets for our more experienced/competition shooters.
With a varied mixture of ponds, open pasture and woodland areas around our ground, you will often be surrounded by local wildlife. Our ground is just 3 miles outside of Nantwich town, yet is set amongst typically beautiful South Cheshire farmland.
The approach to the ground is a long tarmac road, which eventually opens out into our car park, with parking for up to 80 cars. Immediately on your left, as you drive onto the car park, you will see our luxury clubhouse and shop. All visitors must report here on arrival at the ground in order to register for clay shooting practice lessons or other activities.
We currently have English Sporting, FITASC and COMPAK courses that offer a challenging (and ever-changing) variety of targets to suit all abilities with 4 traps per stand. For private parties, we can usually customise the targets on offer to suit specific requirements.
Also, we have a dedicated DTL (Down The Line) layout, which has a acoustic voice release system and regulation targets set up to CPSA standard.
As previously mentioned, all our stands are undercover, which helps incorporate a high level of acoustic protection in order to minimise our environmental impact. All are fully covered, therefore protecting the people shooting and also those waiting to shoot.
Our Air Rifle range is located in the bottom half of the shooting ground and is also undercover with a mixture of knock-down, paper and spinning targets at different distances from 15 – 50 meters. We also do our Archery undercover in the bad weather, but we also have an outdoor range for when we have the nice summer sunshine! With a wide range of bows and air rifles, we are sure we can find something to suit you.
